New Moon Cookout!!!

Howdy Folks and Welcome to the Warrens New Moon Cookout!!!

Last night was the new moon.  That means we started a new month according to the Hebrew calendar!  In the Scriptures we are told to blow the trumpet on the new moon. (Numbers 10:10)  We only have a shofar ( a trumpet made out of an animals horn).  SO...that is what we blow!  Oh, and did I mention that we FEAST!!!  I would have liked to have a picture of the moon for the blog, but that didn't work out!  It was really beautiful!

FUN, FOOD, and FELLOWSHIP!!!

We had all three last night!  We spotted the moon, blew the shofar, ate lots of wonderful food, and spent time visiting! The children played music until 11:00pm.  What a gift from the Father in Heaven to be able to praise Him with singing!

Today has been a day of rest at the ranch.  Monty and I went on a walk to the garden and took naps.  The children have been playing games and getting rested for a big work day tomorrow.  Putting up fence is on the agenda for tomorrow and that will make for a long day.  BUT, tomorrow night is Sabbath and we will again get a rest from our labors!

We pray that all of you will be blessed and have a terrific weekend!

Mighty is the Wind!!!

We have learned how mighty the wind can be around here.  Our army tent has been blown down twice and now it has finally given up entirely!  We spent the last two weeks on a trip to a Family Camp in Kentucky.  Arrived back to the ranch on Friday afternoon to this...

Our tent as it now lays.

The tent is now a thing of the past.  It tore right in two!  The guys are now in the process of renting a storage unit to put our "stuff."  I am sure that most of our things are probably not worth saving from the wind and rain, but for some reason we are determined to save them.

Our tent.

The bus has truly been wonderful!!  Even in the midst of all the bad weather, it has provided us with terrific shelter.
OUR AMAZING BUS!!!!!!!!

We now have a new family living on the property with us.  They are staying in the 5th wheel.  It has been a blessing to have them here.   They took care of the animals and gardens while we were gone.  We are really starting to look like a campground.  The guys now have 6 campsites ready with water, sewer, and electricity.  Looking good!!

The boys working hard on the water lines.
The water is all set up to pump from the lake to the gardens.  This has been a huge help!  So much easier to water than when we had to haul water.  The gardens are doing OK!  Something got in and ate all the peas, but the onions and potatos are looking terrific.  We are supposed to freeze here tonight and our hope is to put in tomatos and bell peppers soon.

More work on the water lines.
Life on the ranch is not easy, but we think it is the best!!  Every little thing we do to improve the place just makes things better.  We are determined and pray that the Father in heaven will bless our efforts!!
